Ses rameaux ondulants sont d'une très grande souplesse : on peut les tordent à l'extrême, ils ne casseront pas. Appartenant à la famille de Thymelaeacea, son feuillage d'un vert bleuté est aussi coriace qu'abondant. Quand l'été touche à sa fin, les feuilles se couronnent de petites grappes de fleurs blanches.
